@pete Sorry Pete, direct with USB cable from iMac. @leecel aka Lee has just sent me an authorisation code, so it’ll probably be OK now. I will update if it isn’t. 🙂
PS It does work OK, and gives a default name and new colour, so you’ll have to personalise this again. Not sure if this is the intended action by you guys.

Neither I @jaredareabow 🙂 At the moment colours are controlled via AutoMaker drop down under the Robox naming icon, which is limited to 17 colours. If you wanted this feature, you’d just add a routine that used the same mechanism within AM, and call this when you reached a pre programmed step you wanted to highlight or differentiate.

@pete Just a heads up, as someone with a corrupted serial number on one of my Roboxes, the software is looping, so when it loads it recognises the Robox with a corrupted serial number, dumps a dialog box on screen, and obviously being 06:00 I won’t have an authorisation code for a few hours at least, as Lee will still be dreaming. 😉

@aftconsult Chris, not sure for sure…it looks like they pre-tension the closing needle tip, and keep it seated when this valve is closed and the other is open, so if you measure their location from the end of the needle (servo) to the start of the brass collar, using verniers or a depth gauge, you can always get it back to where it was.
I’d…[Read more]

Mike replied to the topic Setting new printhead in the forum Technical Support 2 weeks, 4 days ago
@aim-4 “blob” and strings are usually a sign of nozzle control, but looking at that print, it is better than the older head for sure. It’s always best to calibrate a new head, so I would calibrate the nozzle opening and double check, but sometimes the slicer does odd things, and you get blobs here and there too.
I have seen this in AutoMaker…[Read more]

@paulsroom … or the smallest size diameter required, and a lug at the end to stop it falling off the reel holder. This worked for me, and you can offset the height to allow for bigger diameter reels.
This was a larger diameter version… for a Dual Material Robox holder. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2505291

Mike replied to the topic New product - Xtnd conversion kit for Robox Dual to give a 400mm build height in the forum Chatter 3 weeks, 1 day ago
@click I can do a smaller version if required. @chazr33gtr started at 400mm, but in reality it is 375mm now, but I can do even higher still. The case is understandably stiffer than the donor Robox, and as a result much quieter, nearer 60db worst case compared to 75+ which I’ve seen on mine.
The new Z drive screws & nuts give very good and…[Read more]

I hear your pain @jaredareabow, hence why I have a plan B too.
Technically, the O-ring is a micro o-ring, and you did the right thing in moulding them. Silicone will be fine for PLA, and if you add some iron oxide pigment, they’ll have a higher heat tolerance, and might be good enough for ABS longer term.
Email me, and I’ll give you the dims, &…[Read more]

@leecel Thanks for that, but I did spot the changes afterwards to the macro gcode & updated the post, however it just caught me out initially, as I hadn’t seen this noted anywhere in a changelog. The graphic still shows the old method, so that’ll need updating as well.

Just tried to do a purge on a Kickstarter with a new extruder & Bowden tube replacement, and the purge is not shifting the build plate in the Y direction, as the offset is too small between nozzle purges.
No problem with the Y test, getting full movement, and no strange noises from the motion backwards and forwards. Is this a macro error or…[Read more]

@leeroy I had issues with your stl file, because it has some features in it that are not understood by most STL file imports when dropping into my CAD packages or trying to preview the file in generic viewers in macOS..
Have you tried drawing it in another CAD package, and then exporting as a stl? You might get better results in AutoMaker, as I…[Read more]

Mike replied to the topic Printing a simple screen / grid with Robox – Cura fails in the forum Software 1 month, 1 week ago
P.S. CuraEngine is at v3.3.1 now, is your version still at v1.5?
@leeroy Actually, v1.5 refers to SteamEngine, and that was very similar to 15.01 in the old Cura aka the Daid legacy stuff. the new Cura is vastly rewritten, and isn’t comparable, as it’s hugely expanded, and the 3.3.1 gcode is not compatible with any Robox as is, but I have got it…[Read more]

Mike replied to the topic Restore zoom feature or AM Gui in the forum Feature Request 1 month, 1 week ago
@djanszen I didn’t realise you were doing two material prints, and using the zoom feature for aligning individual STLs. IBen is right, it is best to do multipart models within the same CAD model, and create a multi part STL, as the origins are common. Obviously, sometimes you have CAD files from two different sources, but I’d still try and…[Read more]

Mike replied to the topic Restore zoom feature or AM Gui in the forum Feature Request 1 month, 1 week ago
It’d be nicer @djanszen if when you clicked on the model it zoomed to its extents, and placed it in the middle of the active screen area, this way when you zoomed in, it wouldn’t get clipped and need to be panned around. Just my 2¢ 🙂
PS It’s what Cura can do if you check the dialog box preferences for this.

Mike replied to the topic Laser engraving/cutting head in the forum Feature Request 1 month, 1 week ago
@djanszen No snarkiness intended, purely factual. The humour was the fact that your Robox is occasionally still marketed as a “Micro Manufacturing Platform” and it has been discussed on the forum before that your two requested features are NOT being developed for the Robox you, me and others have.
Some people are more upset about this than…[Read more]
