One to watch, looks like its work testing with the Robox as a nijaflex replacement.

Yes, you need to home the axis before you can manually control them.

Blimey, thought I’d done an ok job at installing the beta upgrade parts but reading this I’m not so sure now! good luck with it!

Hi @biscuitlad came across this review today http://3dprintingindustry.com/2014/12/01/zmorph-3d-printer-toolheads/ . Its interesting to read that its the 3rd iteration/version of the product now, with a steady slew of improvements at each release.

I know you are doing this for noobs @Pelgrim, but there shouldn’t be any need to check anything before you start a new print (other than checking the beds clean). It sound overly complicated!

Hi @markb . I don’t have a folder called :Program FilesCELCommonwindows_drivers either but it works fine on my machine. If you haven’t already its perhaps worth uninstalling everything, deleting any folders that remain in Program files and My documents, then re-installing.
I don’t recall anyone having issues with windows installations on the…[Read more]

hmm guess that’s something all the betas need to do with the upgraded parts then, we shall see.
They had a coupe of units merrily printing away, looked good quality but I have no idea how reliable/repeatable it would be. It seemed like a well engineered piece of kit and I think it can use a number of different slicing engines. Guess it should be…[Read more]

Sorry to hear that @biscuitlad, I think you’ve probably had the roughest deal of all the KS backers given your beta stresses too! You’ve probably already seen it but I was really impressed with the Z-Morph at the TCT show recently, http://zmorph3d.com/toolheads/ ,a 3d printer with multiple attachments available for it already, milling/laser…[Read more]

Lay-Fomm sample has arrived . . looks extremely promising, it has similar rigidity to standard PLA, so should hopefully feed down the Bowden tube ok so long as its not too brittle.
Sample of Lay-Gel also arrived and its the same as Lay-Fomm in stiffness.
Looking forward to trying them out when the ‘box has returned from Cel!
Here’s the…[Read more]

Anyone tried this stuff yet, looks like it is quite rigid in filament form and perhaps more suitable than ninjaflex?

Rob replied to the topic Possible Fix for "B Axis Stuck" Error in the forum Technical Support 1 month ago
@3dnerd the gantry is the assembly with the two bars which the head runs on, LH & RH Gantry brackets the two bits of plastic holding the X axis rails and belt, driven by the threaded rods. Us beta backers have just had replacement parts arrive to bring the beta machines up to production level spec, your non-beta unit will already have these.

You can randomize the layer start position in the print profile config file, just change the 0 to 1 on line “randomize_start = 0″. Seems to be quite common for home printers to blob on the start of a new path, looking round Google, read an interesting blog a while ago where they’d coded a stitch between the start and end of the paths to try to…[Read more]

@datman you can change some retract settings . . .just edit the print profile settings file directly with a text editor (My documentscelroboxprintprofiles).

@gaffman, no specific test model as yet. I expect the nozzle calibration will help with the blobbing. Not sure what to suggest on the warpage though, perhaps try increasing bed temperature slightly. I also wonder if your head is set a little too close to the bed, keep an eye on your next print to see if the head is ploughing through the first…[Read more]

How did you fix the B Axis error @bhudson, was it just by adding the new head? still having issues with mine . . .with the upgraded bits??

Rob replied to the topic Three weeks with my Robox in the forum Chatter 1 month, 1 week ago
Hi @i3randon, try re-running your nozzle opening calibration, if anything seeps out when it says it shouldn’t then you know you’ve got a problem. If it doesn’t, just click through the ‘no’ button slowly, leave 5-10s between clicks and closely inspect the nozzle. As soon as anything comes out, even the smallest amount, click on yes. You’re not…[Read more]

The initial beta versions of AM didn’t have the nozzle valve control implemented at that stage, worked ok. As@gid mentions, having the extruder so far away form the head will cause at least some lag between the control and output; some printers I’ve see using retract to good effect have the extruder mounted on the head, so no lag. Plus if we…[Read more]

Hi @gaffman, couple of tips that may help:
1) leave the door closed when printing, let thin parts like this cool slowly with the door closed before you remove them, helps reduce warpage.
2) when you calibrated nozzle opening, did you hit yes at the signs of the smallest amount of filament popping out? Seems like you have a bit of blobbing from…[Read more]
