biscuitlad replied to the topic Lay-fomm - rubber like filament, looks promising for use on Robox? in the forum Materials 2 hours, 7 minutes ago
@clicky - there is no chance of getting another printer. Absolutely no chance, I’ve tried in the past. They just refuse.
What’s annoying is that I have to put more of my time into fixing this thing that has never, ever worked reliably for more than a week. As I repeat endlessly, after 8 months this thing has printed less than half a dozen…[Read more]

Got my extended instructions for trying to repair my Robox. Can’t help thinking I’d be better off just buying another printer…

Unfortunately, because the peg is most likely broken on the left hand side, it’s not that simple:
1. Home the Z axis, as best you can with a broken…[Read more]

And I think Zmorph’s heads are going to be all open source - in fact the source files for one of them are already on Thingiverse.
The problem with Zmorph is the total lack of any real information about it. No reviews, no user forums, no gallery of expected print qualities, etc. I’d like to see some pictures of prints in flexible filament, but…[Read more]

I’m thinking along exactly the same lines. Never got my Robox working reliably, and it’s too proprietary and restrictive to really help much with or feel part of a bigger project. At the end of the day, I feel like all we’re doing is helping CEL make money by helping them create a successful product and not really contributing to the wider 3D…[Read more]

The plastic hexagon nut on the left hand threaded rod was broken, meaning Z-axis failure. They were supposed to have sent a replacement mid week but it never arrived. And the instructions for refitting are verging on the ridiculous. I have to “pad” one of the lower nuts out on three sides with super glue by sticking it into the plastic hexagon nut…[Read more]

I’ll be very interested in your report on what is like to print with, but also how soft, flexible and strong it is after immersing it in water. This type of filament might be the only flexible one we can print with using the Robox.
Not that I’m ever likely to print anything with the Robox. It arrived back after two months (of being broken),…[Read more]

I know, very annoying. I have tweeted CEL about it. Forum is totally flaky anyway - hate wordpress. Currently wasting valuable time trying to make it readable - ended up with a nasty mixture of Stylebot and Stylish plug ins!

biscuitlad replied to the topic 0.8mm Nozzle stops extruding mid print in the forum Technical Support 5 days ago
You know what, I think this is related to the problem of PLA prints printing in mid air and other issues with long PLA prints that were reported during the beta. I suspect it’s something to do with the gradual movement of heat up the nozzle to the feeder tube which causes expansion and can allow a blob to form on the end of the filament (called a…[Read more]

You could try ringing them up - I did that once and spoke to Pete.
There are only two possibilities (as I had a support ticket answered yesterday, so they are working on them):
1) they don’t know the answer (unlikely, as I think they would still respond)
2) they use some sort severity grading of support requests, and yours has been downgraded…[Read more]

I don’t want this thread hijacked by the likes of me, but yes mine was the very first Robox of the Kickstarter batch. At least that was what Pete told me!
Chris is on the case, tearing his hair out and shouting at the monitor. Think he’s sending me a new bit.

@dmullerdesign - looking on the bright side, at least you can print. Got mine back after two months and it lasted 3 minutes before it had a Z-axis failure…

Yep, raised this with CEL a long time ago. Think it fell off their list of priorities.
Didn’t have the nicely argued proof that you’ve done though, just some horribly mangled text on a name tag! At the time I actually put it down to Robox smearing fine detail on small layers. Hope you’ve raised this with them?
Do you get this with the…[Read more]

I think it is possible to specify that the 0.3 nozzle does the initial layer (and perhaps more). That might get you enough height to then continue with the 0.8.
