Hi all,
What kind of experiences have you had with flexible filaments? NinjaFlex seems to always be out of stock, and I’m not sure if that’s because its good or bad. Filaments.ca has a TPU filament that looks interesting. How well does the Robox handle these filaments?
Sorry if I’m duplicating a thread.
Cheers
28/06/2016 at 9:18 pm #30911@saiken I have OK luck with NinjaFlex. Try Amazon; they seem to have it in stock most of the time. It is hard to print with and requires constant babying. I have two printers that will use it; the other two won’t feed the filament to the head during printing and skip all the time. Not sure what the difference is, but it seems to be head related.
I have also tried FilaFlex but as it is softer than NinjaFlex I have more issues with it and have not yet been able to get it to print.
ZenToolWorks Flex filament works very well. It prints almost like regular filament, except for a blob at the start of the first layer.
I have heard SemiFlex works well also but have not yet tried it.
I operate two Betas and one Production Robox.

See my 3D Hub site at https://www.3dhubs.com/phoenix/hubs/ben29/06/2016 at 3:27 pm #30921I’ve used the Semi flex with very good results, I still need to play with the profile though it seems to block the nozzle after about 30 minutes printing, nothing a purge wont sort out but frustrating. The stuff I’ve been printing is mainly gaskets for electrical enclosures which only take 10 minutes apiece so not a problem but I need to solve the issue before I try bigger prints with it.
A friend of mine has been using it for a couple of months on some big prints with very impressive results so I’m going to pick his brain sometime for the answers.

21/07/2016 at 3:03 pm #31543@muttleysdad Check that you are not overheating the material. The slower you print, the lower your print temperature can go since the material spends more time in the heated portion of the print head. If you are overheating the material it may be swelling in the heat bridge, which will obstruct the flow.

Has anyone tried this?
10/10/2016 at 12:13 am #33338I’m going to try out the colorfabb ngen flex as soon as its convenient
10/10/2016 at 9:48 am #33346nGen flex is very easy to use (with a flex compatible extruder, grey, not black) but not as flexible as others and doesnt return to its shape if stretched.
We dropped the Filament Mulitplier to 0.4 and it prints reliably. I’ll post a profile soon, still testing.
