Just got my DM head and mkII extruder installed. wow….. just wow. after all this time I had given up trying to get good prints out of this thing. I am very impressed! no tweaking settings, just calibrated and off to the races. My first print (while simple) is literally perfect!

Any one set this up yet?
Im about half way through the installation, but the z-axis metal cover in the video doesnt look like the one I have.
Am I missing a piece? or should I use original parts?
Thanks and Cheers

Thanks @BHudson. I ended up manually adjusting it. Took forever, but I seem to have good results. I will contact support for a replacement.

Is there any way to calibrate the nozzle opening without the reel attached? Both of my reels are broken and somehow the calibration got totally screwed up. Small nozzle wont close and large wont open.
Thanks

Hi. Im not sure if this belongs here. Havent been here for quite a while (which is a good thing).
Automaker takes up more than my whole screen. While it was annoying before, I cant change some of the settings now because they are off the screen. My only workaround is to change the monitor to portrait mode and that is not fun to work with.

Hi folks.
I found a somewhat major problem. I think it could have easily destroyed my machine if I wasnt in the room and able to turn it off.
The other day I turned on my printer and it told me that there was no reel attached. I re-inserted it a few times, but it didnt help. That’s fine. I can just run it by selecting my filament, right?
Well…[Read more]

@mistsoul I had a bit of a try last weekend (not much time, baby 2 is on the way in the next week or so)
Plastic started to flow at 8 clicks and at 13 clicks i get a full print. It drips plastic everywhere though. it doesn’t seem like the needle is closing properly at 13 clicks.

@bhudson Thanks. I will open a ticket.

@bhudson You were right. It seems like it is the nozzle opening calibration.
@mistsoul It looks like I can only get two settings out of my head.
Very start of extruding + 3 clicks = somewhat oozy(maybe I am expecting too much)
before +3 clicks = failed print.
Anything before it starts extruding is a very quick failed print. 3 clicks after…[Read more]

@bhudson When you do the calibration, when do you stop? When the material just starts to flow?

@bhudson, Thanks for the response.
I agree that it is the nozzle opening, but I dont know if it is a setting. It will print for about 30~45 min. and stop extruding, every time.
No leakage. I took the case off the head last weekend.
To answer your questions:
I did not receive a kit, CEL is sending me a bowden tube. Its apparently in the mail.…[Read more]

@mistsoul, The extruder is working fine. Gears and everything look good and I just cleaned it out. Purge is nice. Like I said its only on long prints.
I will loosen the extruder until I get this solved because I don’t want to break anything (that plastic gear)
Thanks.
Edit: Sorry I forgot to mention that I am using that ugly green ABS.

I have been having 2204.62 lbs of problems with my printer since I have gotten it. Most of the problems have been with the filament feed. It stops on all long prints using the .3mm nozzle.
First time it started happening the filament would strip. Tightened the tensioners.
Then the bowden tube started popping off. MacGyvered it on.
now it still…[Read more]

TokyoSuits replied to the topic Another issue, this time layer not bonding right in the forum Technical Support 1 year, 8 months ago
I think I can see the problem in mine on gcode.ws. There is one layer that it looks like it is putting down to much fill on one layer. Its hard to tell for sure, but it looks like the layer that I am having problems with. I will try to slice it with only slic3r and see if it is still there.
how do you do mentions btw?

TokyoSuits replied to the topic A plethora of problems in the forum Technical Support 1 year, 8 months ago
My bowden tube seems to be holding well now with my m2.6 nut and zip-ties. I actually made it through a print yesterday!
I still need to test the fine settings and the new slic3r doesn’t like some of my models, but it seems to be working better.
