thanks, yes i grabbed a box on thingiverse and ran out of time so i printed it in draft but everything else was printed in fine. The box was also done with madesolid pet black, the large extrusion layers made it shine but also showed some under-extrusion in several places.
I initially tried to print the set in full scale, but just a few pieces…[Read more]

robox robot test images shown below:
same results here, the 100 micron just looks great and the best out of the two in all angles, barely any blob at all while the 20 um shows its layers lot more and has a lot of blobs, oh and both lost their antena, sorry little robots. I used support on both which may have made things worst, for this model it…[Read more]

Pyramid test images shown below:
1st image: left is the 20um and right is the 100um
2nd image: is the 20um looks good but i can really see the inter-layering and i should not be able to notice it that much - 8 to 9hr print
3rd image: is the 100um the layers here look a bit better than the 20um? they are almost identical despite the slight…[Read more]

I had some time in between projects and dedicated about 50 hrs to print again at 20 microns. Needless to say the machine performed very well printing almost non-stop without any mechanical hi-cups. Point to note, i took off the side cover and fed the filament without the guide, i also used the head fan at 100, and used an additional medium sized…[Read more]

looks like i posted a broken link
based on the updates from kickstarter, the printer seems to be more or less open source, there is a recommendation for the users to attempt to modify the extruder to add a spring if they absolutely need one, so components can…[Read more]

Aimdy replied to the topic To Re-turn or not to Return? Board issues with 4 day old printer in the forum Technical Support 1 year, 4 months ago
@lg7guy rather than returning it right away, have the original owner who sold it to you file the ticket with Cel and get a replacement board and ship it to you, if that is the issue. Or you could replace it quickly before your grace period to return it expires, that way if you cannot fix it you can still return it. Since you have experience with…[Read more]

Aimdy replied to the topic Setting Block for nozzle height in the forum Feature Request 1 year, 4 months ago
@nigelberry, one trick that I have been using for my other printer which does not have an automatic bed leveling and was a real pain to level and calibrate all manually during my first month of use, is a feeler gauge. I bought a feeler gauge of .05mm, after confirming that I have a level bed, with the head in the middle of the bed, i set the…[Read more]

Aimdy replied to the topic Slicing Engines - Do you still use Slic3r? Why? in the forum Announcements and settings experiments 1 year, 4 months ago
For some parts which have gaps in the infill after they are printed, a good trick is to reduce the perimeter to 1, this gives more space for infill and for the nozzle to do its work. I have tried this with Slic3r but not yet with Cura and it worked well.

Aimdy replied to the topic Updated to AutoMaker 1.01.03 with firmware r721 - re-calibration required? in the forum Technical Support 1 year, 5 months ago
@chanyufei although I have not printed with the new software yet, I would think no because the items that were indicated as updated in the release note if I recall correctly were not related to calibration, however do double check the release note. Also it never hurts to redo the calibration every so often.

modify this spool holder for the tip to accommodate a drill would help in winding filaments on an empty reel, just a thought.
