@chrisyt got it! Thanks!

The best option by far is to design/model the support yourself if you can, particularly for these kinds of models – if you need help with this, let us know.
Do you mean there are some ways to generate support using 3d party software, or I should just draw it during part designing?

@chrisyt yes, I have drawn the part using Autodesk Inventor and printing it in the draft mode.
Your response is very helpful and sounds logical for me. I will try to play with the ‘Support Z Distance’ parameter and also design future parts considering the fact you told about.
Many thanks!

<p style=”text-align: left;”>I am wondering if it is possible to write the length of the remaining filament in the smart reel eeprom.</p>
<p style=”text-align: left;”>I bought an empty reel from robox to have a tag for 3rd party filament I am using. Initially it was a reel for hips and was programmed to have 20m filament remaining and could not be…[Read more] -

Dear @pete,
I will check it and report later. Thank you for the detailed explanation!

BTW, it looks like the shift was accumulating.

Using draft profile (I did not try others yet) the generated support is not good enough to get straight bridges (see image). Which settings should I consider to improve the result?

😢
I was printing a quite large casing for an electronic device. It should be 7cm tall. Unfortunately at around 5 cm height the print should be stopped since there was a shift along the Y axis. I did not abort the print immediately but tried to observe whether there is some obstacle which has caused that shift. Nothing. Everything was running…[Read more]

0.3 (mm?)
I made the nozzle height calibration again and made sure again, that the paper can slide not touching the nozzle. I have also cleaned the surface and will try again.

@bhudson then I don’t understand, why these wrinkles appear always at identical positions of the printing bed. I though it has something to do with the first layer adhesion.

There was a comment about coating the nozzles with silicon oil, which helps against molten filament sticking.

First layer has some accumulated wrinkles as depicted. Any idea what the reason is and how to get rid of them?

@pete That worked for me! Thanks!
Open the assembly file
Isolate object 1 (others were hidden)
Save as … (for instance 1)
ctrl+z (all objects visible)
Isolate object 2 (others were hidden)
Save as… (for instance 2)

.n. import all files simultaneously into AM. Profit.

mateo replied to the topic Two materials models in Inventor in the forum Materials 5 months, 2 weeks ago
@bhudson I could import single parts simultaneously but they are both lying on the ground, though one needs to be on another. If I create an assembly in the inventor I can add constrains, so that the parts are correctly connected. If the parts are independent, then they are imported without considering their correct respective positions.…[Read more]

@click absolutely right! I recalibrate the height and everything is perfect! Actually my first layer was too squashed. During calibration the sheet of paper was still touching the nozzle. I recalibrate and did as asked - the sheet has to move without touching the nozzle.
I do not use brim, as the parts are thin (1.6 mm).

I have seen some topics concerning model preparation for dual printing, but could not find them now.
My question is following: I have drawn two 3D objects in Autodesk Inventor and then created an assembly of this two objects. Then I export this assembly as stl file and try to load it into AM. AM shows me an error message (see attached). If I…[Read more]

@pete I have polished the bed with a sandpaper. But what was important is a proper hight calibration. My printing head was just too close to the printing bed.
