Chris White commented on the post, SingleX™ - Robox development and experimentation head. 3 months, 3 weeks ago
The SingleX will work on all models of Robox, but it will require the latest version of AutoMaker. The shipping of these heads is currently waiting on this new release, which includes support for RoboxPRO, new […]

@medusadelft I’ve just been reliably informed it’s arriving in approximately 1 month (it’s currently in a shipping container on the water) - after which it will be available on the UK shop.

@medusadelft Apologies, I believe we’re out of stock at the moment - you can still purchase the filament directly from Polymaker/another supplier of PC-Plus and use a standalone reel holder. We’re working on getting more Polymaker stock at the moment…

@svelo it already is…

All profiles on reels are updated to the latest configuration the moment they are installed, as long as they are still programmed as a SmartReel and not a custom filament. So as long as you are using the latest version of AutoMaker, you will be using the correct profile.
PC-Plus has full warranty coverage and the profile was corrected in 2.01.04…[Read more]

Nice one @murloc992! Glad to see it worked nicely for you 🙂

@murloc992 Check out the other posts on the subject - there’s an easy way to find layers/edit GCode using Repetier.
If you want to search the forums, the best way I have found is to use Google:
site:cel-robox.com M1
will find you all the results relating to pause.

@pelgrim Writing the necessary code for controlling the valves as an integral part of the printing process.

An ‘M1’ code anywhere in the gcode will pause a print. You’ll also find more discussion here, and in various other places on the forum.

@pelgrim do you ever say anything positive?

Chris White replied to the topic 4 colors Robox + support material in the forum Feature Request 1 year, 5 months ago
@pelgrim we have made the first step. Twice. The first time nearly 3 years ago. There is no money in it for them due to the extra development and the fact that development is only for one machine, so they are not interested.
@simonhoult Have you tried using Repetier for GCode preview? It works great, it’s quick, simple, free and we use it daily…[Read more]

Chris White replied to the topic Can we print high temp PEEK? in the forum Materials 1 year, 5 months ago
@coryglenn It is not currently possible to print PEEK on a Robox - the current DM and S2 heads are limited to 280°C. We are looking at producing a head which will be capable of printing with high temperature materials - I’m currently awaiting prototype parts. Keep your eye out for updates.

Chris White replied to the topic Best filament to use for lost wax type casting in the forum Chatter 1 year, 5 months ago
@nigelberry Check out MoldLay, I believe it’s a modified PLA with good clean burn-out properties - our sales guy has printed a lot of it on Robox with near perfect prints, the thing I don’t know about is the casting side of it, but they certainly suggest it’s an improvement over PLA. We’re also looking at Polymaker PolyCast as an option (this is…[Read more]

Chris White replied to the topic Can you please answer 3 simple pre sales questions? in the forum Technical Support 1 year, 5 months ago
@quacker Sorry for the delayed response - I’ve been flat out… Essentially what I’m talking about is modelling the support material yourself - then you have complete control over where it is, and can design it for easy removal. If your part is printed on its side, Cura does not generate support for the clip tabs that are printed closest to the…[Read more]

Hi @quacker,
I’ve had a look at the design, and the current version of Cura used within AutoMaker is not able to produce support for a couple of the features due to their size. Is this your own part? i.e. are you able to make modifications/additions?

@henry yeah, they’ve been telling people that for 3 years, but the reality is, without collaborating with us, they will not be able to provide support for Robox, and they are not speaking to us.

Chris White replied to the topic Feature Request: filament shape detector in the forum Feature Request 1 year, 5 months ago
@trebor We’ve looked at this briefly, and also spoken to some consultants on the subject, and unfortunately there’s just no way it can be added to a printer without considerably increased cost. Filament manufacturers use twin-axis laser measurement, with each unit costing >£1000, and therefore we must rely on them to provide filament which is…[Read more]

@henry Where did this news from Simplify3D come from? they don’t speak to us…
Pallette is a tricky one due to the valves as usual - Cura GCode would need two lots of post-processing, and as very few of our uses have one or are interested in one, it’s just not development worth us pursuing at the moment, sorry.
