Chris White replied to the topic Backup power supply not Sinus Wave in the forum Technical Support 3 days, 12 hours ago
@lahminator I see no reason for it not to work - most UPS units are designed to work with computer PSUs etc. and the Robox PSU is very similar in design, so I don’t foresee any issues. We also know of a number of users that use UPS units without issue including @bhudson - I certainly don’t see it causing any damage.

Chris White replied to the topic Print time estimates wildly out in the forum AutoMaker 2.00.xx Bug Reporting 3 days, 12 hours ago
Hi @gid! Can you attach the printJob zipped up please (minus the STL if necessary)? That applies to all of these things with time estimation - we need predicted and real times plus the associated GCode, so that we can look at what’s going wrong…

@dr-woo this is also very much intentional. Materials such as PLA rapidly drop in viscosity when left resident at their melt point. If you pre-heat the nozzle, you will get a spurt of very liquid degraded material for the mini-purge. The heat up sequence is designed so that the bed and nozzle(s) reach printing temperature at roughly the same t…[Read more]

Chris White replied to the topic Ability to go from Pause to Maintenance without Cancelling first in the forum Feature Request 1 week, 4 days ago
@dr-woo This is already implemented in all firmware >r739 - the nozzle heaters are only turned off if the pause lasts for >5 minutes.

Chris White replied to the topic How to encapsulate a nut in the forum Announcements and settings experiments 1 week, 4 days ago
@dr-woo Both have been on the planned feature list for sometime - it’s just not high priority as it is predominantly for advanced users who can already achieve the same result, albeit more manually. We are currently concentrating on ensuring the already implemented features work correctly. As a sneak peak you can see the planned splitting…[Read more]

@3dman M1 is the GCode command to raise a pause - you can also add subsequent GCode to move the head out of the way if you chose.
In order to add to sliced GCode, you need to be on the Settings screen, as the model is pre-sliced, the Gcode (raw and AutoMaker post-processed) is temporarily stored in the user data directory - %APPDATA% on Windows.…[Read more]

@3dman This essentially refers to the size of the ‘triangles’ used to construct a mesh and is a simplified version of ‘chord height’. There is an excellent explanation here:

Chris White replied to the topic 2 layer pcb etching in the forum Feature Request 2 weeks, 4 days ago
@click or you could amend the bed levelling macro (with a backup obviously) so that it homes in the 9 locations you require on the PCB to determine it’s inclination/flatness, leaving you to design the clamping mechanism as you choose…

@wellmeadow I think it depends how quick they are to adapt to the post-capitalist world they are shortly to inherit. I don’t have a problem with ‘DRM’ for stls, as long as I am able to print an item a few times - it would be extremely irritating if you had to pay for a model twice due to a print failure. I understand the need for these companies…[Read more]

Chris White replied to the topic Is usb connection necessary during the printing process? in the forum Software 3 weeks, 5 days ago
@wellmeadow In version 2.00.01 of AutoMaker we have actually moved some of the print management functionality into the firmware. We didn’t want to add them immediately until we had some more testing under our belt, but we think the latest iteration of actions to perform when slip is detected is sufficiently reliable to allow them to take place…[Read more]

@greystorm Yes, you can roll back to 1.03, but it would be very helpful if you could provide us with more information if possible - can you provide the following?
Operating System and Version
Screen Resolution and Size
Do you have any screenshots of the issue? -

Chris White replied to the topic Laded filament not found as loaded in the forum Technical Support 1 month, 1 week ago
@wellander This is not caused by the EEPROM connection as mentioned by Dr. Woo, but by the ‘loaded’ switch in the extruder. Your switch will need to be upgraded/repaired, and to do this you need to open a support ticket on our portal at http://www.cel-robox.com/support
As a temporary workaround, there is an option under ‘Preferences’ (gear icon…[Read more]

@wellmeadow - yes it’s a good feature request - I like it… I’ll try and get it in the next release. However…there is a small issue in that slicing time/weight etc. is also dependent on head type, so you would also need to select the type of head installed, making it much more complicated… we’ll see what we can do.

Thanks @wellmeadow – added to bug list for future release, we realise there’s still a few interface elements that don’t fit on 768 high screens. We didn’t realise the popularity of this screen resolution until it was too late - it seems 1366×768 is common on lots of cheaper laptops.
