Thanks pelgrim
I was playing around with inkscape and managed to do it, though it did scale it up around 4 times. I imported as JPG under path > trace as BitMap > edge detection > save as SVG > import into 123D > construct then smart scale. See attachment.
It is evident that you need really clean edges, but not bad for a start. Will look…[Read more]

Nice one pelgrim
But how did you do it?
Ive installed Inkscape but there doesn’t seem to be any option to import a PSD file. I tried importing a JPG version and saving as SVG but cant import it in to blender or 123d.
Whats the secret?

Can anyone help with my next project?
I have scanned an engineering drawing cut out and cleaned up the relevant part in Photoshop exported to Illustrator save as SVG but when I import to 123D I get an error saying “please check whether the SVG file has valid outlines”. I believe the issue is with the Illustrator part as instead of just a s…[Read more]

Thanks all for the tips.
I went into custom settings and change the perimeter setting to 10 and can confirm that it made no difference see image attached.
Does any one know what the custom settings default setting is ie is it the same as course, medium or fine to start with.

Pete
Don’t understand exactly, I assume you mean go to print profiles click save as give it a name change the number of perimeters from 2 to 10 - 15, but what does this do. Haven’t used this side of the software yet.

All
I’m trying to print a Lego brick.
The printer lays down the oblong then 3 circles for the internal columns but the circles become dislodged during the second layer. I have not sanded the build plate as I have not had any issues till now to warrant it, the only thing I can think of is that its not my file so may not be fit for purpose.
Any…[Read more]

Thank you all for your advice.
I have now manage to print it, but I don’t understand how/why it worked.
As I said it was a blender file not of my creation (I’m still learning how to use it). In order to print it I opened the file in 123D created a 50 x 50 x 0.1 mm plate and positioned it so that .05mm of the plate was in the spiral. Sent it t…[Read more]

I’m trying to print a flat spiral in PLA but instead of the head going round in ever increasing circles it keeps putting down dots and then when it does start to go round the head has lifted a level and it just becomes a mess.
Anyone got any ideas?
The file was created in blender

All
Thank you all for your responses, I have resolved the issue.
I contacted TS and I was advised to reprogram the eprom on the reel, this is simply done by going to the filament setup first icon top right select the correct filament from the drop-down list then click “write to reel”, found down the bottom.

Starting with how to show hidden files !
I have found the Normal_robox.gcode file but next to the Normal.statistics. But how do you find out which layer to stop it on?
