My warranty ends next month. If warranty was still 2 years, I would wait for the one with the new extruder and buy a new one. But a one year warranty, will it still be worthwhile? I get very little work (paid) for mine and I think that it will be too expensive to keep up with the service costs. What will you be doing?
17/09/2016 at 8:35 pm #32720I would go for a service upgrade. Bring your printer up to current standards. Over the last two years CEL has found and corrected issues with the basic design. With a full service upgrade you should have fewer problems without the cost of a new printer.
18/09/2016 at 3:51 pm #32726@nigelberry To the best of my knowledge, the warranty is only a year in the US. In the UK and EU, the warranty remains two years.
I operate two Betas and one Production Robox.
See my 3D Hub site at https://www.3dhubs.com/phoenix/hubs/ben18/09/2016 at 8:49 pm #32730Here in Australia, I understand the warranty will be reduced to one year.
I know the machines have improved, but one year is not long enough for me to feel comfortable.
Do you know if there are plans to fit a device similar to your bracket to stop the cables fouling high parts? I would want that in a new machine!

20/09/2016 at 11:09 am #32774Post warranty.
1/ Will we be able to use support?
2/ Will we be able to get repairs done?
3/ Will we be able to obtain replacement parts?
If so will you be posting a list of costs?
20/09/2016 at 11:21 am #32775Robox support will be available for users outside the warranty period we have no intention of reducing the speed and or quality of this service. We will offer repairs at a rate which takes into account the initial purchase price for the unit. ie less than the market rate for skilled servicing. Spare parts will be available for current production and while spares are available for older production, these will typically be available individually or as part of kits. We have an internal spreadsheet of the time it takes and spare parts required for common service issues, because this changes regularly we wont make it public but will endeavour to keep pricing fair and consistent.
We reserve the right to add idiot tax 🙂
