looks like you need to print it on a raft surface so the balls are ok as he has done in the vid..
17/12/2014 at 12:05 am #11884…slicer = death of robox
in the video, what is this first layer he is cutting away ? Is it support material ? Can we do this also with the Robox ?
17/12/2014 at 12:17 am #11887ahhh yea a raft !
So raft by Robox ?
17/12/2014 at 8:19 am #11896@edthehorse “So raft by Robox ?”
Easy: “Raft needed” or “In Pursuit Of Flat Bottom”
BTW ‘death’?
@smitty “so wondering could the way slicer is slicing that its thinking the bearings need to start being formed higher up than what is needed so thatbthe bearings start to print in thin air ?”
Interesting point that need testing. Did you get to preview g-code maybe? (check “G-Code preview” - maybe asked for feature and one way is to use http://gcode.ws/ - or more convenient way is what I’ve done in here “gcode-preview”). Alternatively - if you have done it recently, you can attach xxxx_robox.gcode here and we all can see if that’s good point you had.
Reason it makes sense is that when printing with raft they (slicers?) leave a gap deliberately so it can be easily removed.
17/12/2014 at 9:08 am #11908In the youtube file there is a few layers before the actual shapes are being printed (see time index 2:09)
I don’t see this in the jpg Jack posted.I’m really surpriced some of you try this out with the current AM version,
but I would be overjoyed if one of you can pull it off with a robox.java (EE), JavaFX, HTML, GIS) programmer, database wizard, framework inventor, looking for a job ! http://roboxing.com/wizards18/12/2014 at 6:03 pm #12080@clicky tbh i didn’t preview the code ,its been years since i even looked at g code ,so it was a case of download and fingers crossed ,tbh gcode has never been a friend of mine lol
smitty24/12/2014 at 7:57 am #12462So do they use a support structure of wax?
