@petal we were sent some “cleaning filament” which turned out to be nylon.
It was also way out of the size range it should be so it was no use at all.
I find Nylon is a good cleaner for our heads and recommend our Nylon as the perfect material for something which needs to be strong while slightly flexible.

strange one, can you share the printjob folder?

Pete replied to the topic LokBuild - OMG Wow! in the forum Chatter 2 weeks ago
abs juice should be kept in the bin with the painters tape and the glue stick, hairspray cans should be disposed of in a different bin or never purchased in the first place 🙂
We use the ThermoSurface for every material but things like Lokbuild do work well with cold bed prints.

Is the best way to switch between regular AM and the modified version just renaming the CuraEngine.exe file?

Wow!
This is really nice guys well done.
I set it up on a Windows 7 machine and after reading the instructions a few times to see what i missed it ran without any complications. Printing a benchy in Polyflex now using whatever defaults were on Slic3r.

I’ve made a shop item for a short bit of tube.

The section of bowden goes in where you would feed the filament in normally. It is the same size as the filament path but will stop at the entrance to the extruder. Once there you just feed the flex filament through it, it helps you to push it past the squishy index wheel to the feed gears.
In my experience nylon sticks too well to the…[Read more]

I asked Chris E about this and he suggested that the problems he saw was damage to the filament caused by the extruder. It is hot enough to soften the PVA filament and after a short period of use the filament leaving the extruder was crinkled by the gears and this distortion was enough to prevent it feeding easily.
The spring on the brass ring is…[Read more]

Paul you are right, we should have provided more detail on the use of flexible filament, it is not as easy to use as all the other filaments. It is by far the easiest flexible filament I have used and is the reason we have added it to SmartReels. I have altered the listing content.
The little bit of extra tube is a very simple addition. If you…[Read more]

Pete replied to the topic Error Gantry *T06 ? in the forum Materials 2 weeks, 4 days ago
This is probably a problem with the nuts which run on threaded bar on the left or right side. Each side has 2 nuts which are retained in the Z gantry to allow it to move up and down on the threaded bars. If the thread is damaged or dirty in the bar or the nuts then it may be jamming.
It would be best to check for dirt and damage then use…[Read more]

If you can make the heatsink more effective or reduce the heat which is causing the PVA to swell in that area of the head you might get better results.
Try a cold bed, you might need a Lokbuild surface or similar.
Also put a fan on your extruder as it gets hot enough to soften the PVA filament.
Your suggestions of reducing the space for the…[Read more]

we came to the same conclusion about Polysupport a while back, we are still working on expanding the range of support materials.
Materials producers are not particularly motivated as there are still not many decent multi material printers around.

@paulsroom try using the smooth side of the bed for nylon. Give it a clean with alcohol wipes before printing.
I found it stuck really well to the bed on the smooth shiny side. Does the first layer look good?
