I have a quickfill head and a dual material head. The course nozzle on the quickfill is only used for draft mode, which means that which ever head I use, if I’m doing a fine single-material print I have an unused nozzle sitting there cooking filament and clogging up. A simple single nozzle head would solve this problem and increase reliability.

Ok, looks like there is one on the web store; I should have looked there first.

@matthewhajicek Please note that the SingleX head is designed for abrasive and high temperature materials. It does not have a needle valve and it has a 0.6 mm nozzle.

For most filaments as long as you purge the print head on a regular basis you will not see any issues with the unused nozzle. For ABS and PLA you should purge every 10-20 print hours or immediately after a longer print. For PET variants you should purge every 50-100 hours. This will clear out that built up material.

I have several commercial Robox units

Am I right in thinking the singleX head can be used on the standard Robox platform?

I have two sat here with blown head seals that haven’t been used for nearly a year.

Is there an upgrade to the automaker program to allow the head to use retraction? or do you have to mess around with the G-codes?

I’m assuming also with this being a much simpler head design I can change the nozzles for different sizes like I do on my other printers?

If its as simple as plug and play I’m thinking of getting couple if not then the Roboxe’s are going in the Bin as they’re taking up much needed room in the workshop.

SingleX is plug n play. It uses retraction.
