@zoomzoomluke the pro contract doesnt update any parts by default. Only the service packs will do that.
@hotnozzle The new gantry parts are fitted to all the upgrade service packs.
12/02/2016 at 3:31 pm #26851@pete, I am not in US or UK. I am wondering if I send my Robox for service, and you send it back to me, how could you help me not the get Import Duty tax twice (Custom might think it is a new printer). You need to put value of the printer on the paper work, how will you do about it ?
18/02/2016 at 4:39 pm #26988@irawans We have a network of couriers who can bypass the tallest fences and the most confusing customs forms.
I believe our import/export account can tag items as “service” so they are excluded from normal taxes as tax has already been paid. The courier assures us that they are then able to ship both ways without additional charges.
18/02/2016 at 5:11 pm #26990@pete, thank you for the info. I am thinking to take Service and Upgrade option 2. I have pre-order the dual material, which I have been told mine will be shipped in April. If I did the service and upgrade now, will it speed up the process for me getting the Dual Material head sooner?
Other question is, about the horizontal line from this topic:
So, will mine be upgraded to version 3 (Z gantry-z carriage parts) too ?
Last question: how long does it take to do the service and upgrade ?
Thanks
01/03/2016 at 3:28 am #27281Sounds like a progressive package, well-tuned to the Robox target demographic. How about a hot swap option? You send us a printer with the prescribed updates on it and we send you our machine, so we’re not down?

Damn Solid Design03/03/2016 at 11:11 am #27394Having very recently had my Robox serviced and repaired under warranty, I would certainly go for full service packages for upgrades such as the dual filament option and different filaments. The performance of my Robox after its service is greatly improved - the surface finish and accuracy of my subsequent printed models is very high The technical support team are very responsive and the continuing upgrades both in parts and software demonstrate a commitment to future developments in 3D printing.
Okay there were teething problems at first both perhaps with the printer and certainly with my knowledge. But for me they were more expected than hoping you just pressed a switch and Hey Presto. But now it’s like a magic box that I have confidence in leaving it to print successfully. I understand a great deal more about 3D print design and capabilities now, so it’s no longer the case of run before you can walk.
