Is it me or have I seen a progressive cull on filaments that robox have to offer?
Everything always seems to be out of stock or on back order?
Where did Ngen go?
Where are the Nylon offerings in different colours?
Where are normal application filaments?
Where are the ABS offerings?
I seem to have two extremely expensive printers with little filaments that I can use (unless I want to use non robox reeled and void my guarantee)
I have been with you guys for years and please forgive me if I’m being harsh but whats happening with the filament situation?
October 25, 2017 at 8:30 pm #44793I was down at CPC Farnell which is local to me and a Robox Stockist and large chunks of the filament.. and the heads availability says “until stock exhausted” which implies those particular filaments are either not available from the supplier for CPC to stock or CPC dont think its a good seller and are stopping stock?
Aerospace Engineer with a creative itch being scratched by Robox!
October 25, 2017 at 8:41 pm #44797Wow so they have no confidence either in Robox continuing to stock filament
Bit worried about my investments now to be honest.
Thousands spent and seeing “out of stock” “on back order” more often than “in stock”
Robox please fill me with confidence again that your going to keep the 3d printing product alive! Without stock its a dud!
October 25, 2017 at 9:20 pm #44803@mistero You do not need SmartReels to use the filament. If you buy nGen from ColorFabb you just use a spool holder next to the printer. If you have an exhausted SmartReel, you can just plug in the empty reel, or you can select the material from the drop down menu.
nGen is being replaced with FormFutura HDGlass. I think this is a price decision. nGen will remain on the supported list until future notice. If you have Advanced Mode turned off, just look at the list of filaments that are in AutoMaker under the Library. Any of these filaments can be used without SmartReels and without activating Advanced Mode. They remain fully supported until removed from the list. I have yet to see a filament removed from the list so far.
Nylon does not come in lots of colors. Black and natural are generally the only colors sold.

I have to agree with Ben on this, but you can dye nylon as its water absorption properties make it very easy to do this.

Not to everyone’s taste though! 🙂
October 25, 2017 at 9:35 pm #44805How about the ABS offering?
I was looking to try the titan x but I’ve never been able to order it.
looking for a low warp formula.
Thank you for your reply buddy
October 25, 2017 at 9:36 pm #44806@mistero I use TitanX all the time. I order it directly from FormFutura. I don’t use any other ABS anymore. TitanX is included in the list in AutoMaker.

It’s a week away 🙂
October 26, 2017 at 8:55 am #44818HDglass is the same material as nGen.
TitanX is our preferred ABS, TechABS supply was not reliable.
Both of these are coming in large quantities in about a week. We recently changed several material suppliers to ensure a reliable supply. Most filaments are now originating in Europe.
Nylon is only in the natural colour for now, this will expand with some new head development in the near future.
No need to go all drama club, just ask us if you have any concerns.
