My Robox is a Blue Commercial Version

I have a problem that layer peeling off the place where there is no filling diagonally. It is thin-walled

I also the corners are raised during printing, especially with this piece

i’m use Polar White-ABS from Robox with default parameter except the bed that I set at 130 deg
for better adherance of objects except for this

    piece : TARDIS_top_02.stl from http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:124033

More info on the attached photo

    Anybody he has an idea?

    Thanks for your help

My ABS prints warp, on standard settings. One thing that can help are to use ‘mouse-ear’ pads at the corners. I tried this with a thin walled box with some success, but only once.

Wraping is really touchy subject for me. It definitively requires complete new topic. I need to stop what I was doing and concentrate on some tests of printing boxes. I’ve seen on internet (thingiverse for instance) people managed really nice and flat prints… I am sure it has nothing to do with Robox or software - it is matter of settings and setup… But have no idea what… yet, hopefully!

Clean the bed with Alcohol, we use this and some typical blue paper hand towels. I do it about every 5 prints with abs or every 20 with PLA.

Keep the door closed…add a few brims for small items.

I get very little warping away from the bed.

@pete - if it is OK to hijack @teleporteur thread for warping issues:

I do clean bed regularly (even after each print if needed - especially before print I am worried I’m going to get anything warped). I was told that Bounty paper towels are one of the best to use with alcohol (fray free, etc). But that’s minor detail. Door of the printer is always closed. I’ve even increased ambient temperature (and bed temperature) for 5º and all did very little to nothing.

I have almost every print that requires flat surface to warp upwards on:

    - corners - really, really badly

    - long narrow surfaces at ends, especially when print lasts longer

See for instance here: “in-pursuit-of-flat-bottom”. I am not sure if it is design that causes it or something else. I have, though, noticed that not all 4 corners warp the same way: those closer to cooler part of the printer warp more. Those closer to door, transparent side.

If you think it is design then I need to find way to redesign it differently (although I’ve seen people printing similar stuff spot on with different printers: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:427546). Alternatively if I am doing something wrong - could you try to point out what is it? Or maybe prove you can print same things without it being warped? I don’t mind attaching stl’s here (or on thingiverse).

Latest I had been disappointed with was long arc like in http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:265529 - in my design I tried to print it in two halves (flat bits going toward laptop) with spacers. It came out quite nicely - but side closer to transparent side peeled off a bit from bed and warped upwards. I didn’t have enough area around to add more than two ‘brims’.

And as per in-pursuit-of-flat-bottom - even when I added a lot of it - corners would just pull upwards anyway.

I get it on long prints with ABS, always warping on the edges which curl upwards slightly. The only prints that didn’t show warping were the box print I did with a deliberately curved edge and mouse ears at the corners.

I’d love to know what settings Pete uses to avoid warping/ curling.

It is possible with 3d printers. I already pointed to: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:427546

    Here are linked some pics:

Check the left and right edge. They are ever so slightly curved upright. But for 0.5mm max! If that much.

    or:

No warping signs nor signs of brim being trimmed.Guy who did it said only this:

“I use an hot bed to avoid the wrapping. The temperature is 55°. You can use double face tape if you haven’t hot bed. The hot bed is important for PLA.”

Polar White PLA warps even more for me than ABS. I am curious to hear what Pete has to say, too. I am sure that I am doing something which is not quite right and many of warping issues can be fixed if we (I) know how.
