It’s not the geometry so much that I’m asking about. I am wondering if there is anything I can do about the nozzle path. It seems to start extruding at one side of the pillar and squirts out way too much plastic, and then prints normally. Is this a peculiarity of the geometry?

@saiken That is a side effect of printing an overhang like that. There isn’t anything to push the filament against. If you are printing with a custom profile, you may need to check the nozzle open/nozzle close values as they may be too high and the nozzle open/close operations are not taking the proper amount of material into account.

I operate two Betas and one Production Robox.

My Robox is a Green Kickstarter Limited Edition

It is cura’s doing. But you could always design your own support for it - one extrusion width wide wall below it - and make it couple (maybe one?) of extrusion heights lower than part so it doesn’t bond well.
