White ABS colors question

Can someone at Robox get reallllly descriptive on the difference between “Crystal Clear” and “Polar white” ABS. Maybe even show objects printed with all colors.

It seams obvious in the name, but the images of the spool make them look very similar. I’m guessing and hoping, “Crystal Clear” is Semi translucent, but opaque enough to look like a milky white and not “Crystal clear” like hardened Alien spit. 😛 Polar white, I’m guessing is just like Solid bright, house paint, white.

Hi Fehr,
First - an apology. We do not currently have a supply of Clear ABS, it was a mistranslation with our suppliers who mistook clear for natural. We received samples of natural ABS after we had designed the ‘crystal clear’ label. We intend to source a clear ABS (mABS) in the near future, but we do not currently have one. We have also made the decision not to get natural ABS either at this stage. It has been removed from the shop.

Whoa there! What’s going on now? A clear version of PLA is being listed on your site using pretty much the same wording as the phantom clear ABS.

Is this a genuine, or another translation mistake with your foreign suppliers?

BTW, your sales dept never got back to me about the other reel. Guess they thought there’s no rush, now we’ve got two months clicking our heels instead of testing printers….

clear PLA is possible, MABS is the only transparent material like ABS we could find, we will list this soon.

the product our supplier called “clear” ABS that we had listed was actually natural colour, a very light brown. We put the details on the site before the samples had arrived.

But will you have it by the time (end of March?) you send the beta models out? If so, can I keep my original filament request, which was for one black, one white, one clear?

Are you planning to stock translucent PLA too? How about one of the PLA/PHA mixes?

I haven’t seen yet clear ABS but I order transparent ABS as a substitute http://www.3d2print.net/shop/product/abs-transparent-1-75mm/. But if you’re really need a clear filament try rubber-like clear http://www.3d2print.net/shop/product/rubber-crystal-clear-1-75mm/.
