I get to go first, as its morning where I am. This update is exactly what we want. The first necessity was for a dependable machine. Software and material profiles can be tweaked and updated continuously, particularly when there are a lot of machines out there and, as I hope and expect, a lively and dedicated user group.

@henrycasson
any information you’re willing to share with us ?java (EE), JavaFX, HTML, GIS) programmer, database wizard, framework inventor, looking for a job ! http://roboxing.com/wizards26/07/2014 at 3:05 am #4966I have a question. At some time in the future there will be a double head, to enable soluble support printing, which seems to me to be very desirable. Where does the second reel go?
26/07/2014 at 4:14 am #4969The second reel will be mounted externally, either on a mounting arm or on a free-standing reel holder. There is still come question on how that will end up, I am relaying what Pete said when I asked about that some time ago. There was also some mention of something you could print on the Robox to mount the second reel. Everything is conjecture at this point.
When I am not using a Robox reel, I just have mine on a turntable sitting next to my Robox. It works quite well and a second turntable will be easy to add and will also work with the Robox reel installed.
With a little effort and some ingenuity, and some free time, I hope to design a housing that will allow multiple reels to be readily available and will have built-in EEPROMS that will be selected when the reels are loaded into the extruders.26/07/2014 at 7:13 am #4972Of great interest to me as freight smart reels of material to Oz cost’s more that the material.
26/07/2014 at 7:22 am #4973I’ve read the manual and:
1. Surprised to see that there is retraction of the material in addition to the needle valves - though I can understand why.
2. Very impressed by the vast range of control adjustments possible and the apparent flexibility of the Automaker software.
3. Also very impressed by the (not quite finished) manual. Very comprehensive and well written.For some reason I had it my head that the extruder was on the print head. While this has the disadvantage of adding quite a lot of weight, such an arrangement might be better suited to flexible (ie rubbery) materials. Better, I think, to pull such a material through a Bowden tube that to push them!
I wonder if anyone has yet tried a flexible PLA, for example?
