The format of these files is critical, please do not change the order of any data or delete rows. Fonts should remain as they are or if a new font is required it should be one of the fonts provided by google so no data is lost https://www.google.com/fonts

These files work by replacing the words in column B with those in Column C when that language is selected by the user. For them to be included in AutoMaker you will need to edit the file and upload it to this forum, we will then check it and add it to a future build.

To add or change a translation:

    1. Download the file for the language you wish to edit. If you wish to add a language which is not available please download any language and replace all the data in Column C.
    2. Open it using a spreadsheet editor
    3. Only edit the data in Column C. Some lines have translations from previous versions of AutoMaker but these may need to be updated or changed, blank lines have no previous translations and need to be completed.
    4. When you have added a translation to each of the rows is Column C you should save the file in the same format and upload it to this forum. Please create a new topic with the language name in the title.

There may be some discussion about some translations and we encourage this, different people will find some explanations clearer. We want the information presented to users to be clear and easy to understand, if possible the same terms should be used for each instance of a word which describes a feature or function.

If anyone would like to translate this post please add your translation below.

The names of people who have submitted translations which are accepted into the software will be credited in the software. Outstanding help will be rewarded with vouchers for filament or other rewards.

    Hi Pete,

I started looking at a Dutch translation. Some text is however hard to place without proper context. could you help me here?

One example is “Last fil temp”, even having used Automaker for a year now this one eludes me completely:-)

An other example is line 68, “Current” would that mean the electric current or temporal current (as in the most current version)?

In general, It would be good to have a column for these kind of notes. Sometimes it is good to have a note where in the program this text is used.

900 lines to go, so I’m sure I come up with more questions.

    Bert

One more: Is “to unretract” really an English verb? 🙂

I know unretracted, which simply means not retracted. But I’m not sure how that can be verbed.

More seriously: What do you mean with it? Is it the opposite of ‘to retract’ , like ‘to push in’ or ‘to pull in’ the fillament?

Im stuck with this Retract/unretract speed (line 139) and unretract length (line 265) Some explanation would be useful.

@brjhaverkamp “Last fil temp” is a shortened version of “Last filament temperature” This is the value that the head stores to indicate the previous filament print temperature. This value is used to determine if a purge is required due to filament print temperature.

I am guessing, but for the unretract I think it means extrude, or move forward, to return to the original position before the retract.

Any Idea where this last fill temp is used? It brings up an interesting point of the amount of space you have for a translation. At least I assume it was abreviated for a reason.

For unretract I was also going for a translation of ‘pull in’ or ‘push in’. But you got a good point. If it means undo the retract and move to original position, the translation would be different.

For current, I wil asume it means the temperal version as in the current filament loaded

@brjhaverkamp It is used on the HEAD tab of the advanced settings flyout, which has been moved in AM 2.0 to the EXTRAS area under HEAD EEPROM

There are changes of number and names of the nozzles between the original and the german Version. Is this intentional? I recommend not to translate product names and websites (as right now). You will not find a SmartReel with “Schlaue Spule” printed on the package in any Shop and a website called http://www.meinekleinefabrik.com instead of myminifactory.com. Nobody in Germany uses “hochstufen” for upgrading. That word is commonly used for uplevelling in role playing games. You may use “aufrüsten”, but usually , especially for software, the English term “upgrade” is well known and common in germany and often mixed into the language. I recommend stick to this term as well.

@medeiros If a language is not present you can use any language file and just remove the text from column C and replacing it with your language.

We will try to include all languages which are provided.
