What is the general experience for the life of a Head.? The reason I ask is my head is now off to CEL warranty after just 271 hours use in a little under 2 months of usage. My usage can’t be that unusual as I only use ABS and CO-PET (similar print temps) and purge at each change. Is the head the weak point on a ROBOX or am I just unlucky. I print mainly (90%) on the fine nozzle and problem started with a drip on the large nozzle blobbing prints, then nozzle opening calibration problems and ultimately nozzles blocked.. I was tempted to buy another head as mine may take a couple of weeks under warranty but as the head is so “untouchable” I don’t want to have two heads that repeat the above experience if I can’t make them last longer. Any feedback welcome on how to avoid the above re-occurring etc.

October 25, 2017 at 8:34 pm #44794Assuming its defo the nozzle thats blocked and not the filament jamming in the head somwhere (search my posts on dual head filament jams) then using some rigid ink Floss might work. Its worked for me a couple of times and its good at pulling crap out of the head. Usually need to feed about 50cm through as even after 10 -20c cm worth you can suprisingly suddenly get a black blob of crap.
And as @pete has said,, running some nylon through as well is a great way to clean the nozzle

October 26, 2017 at 8:10 am #44812The only terminal failure for the heads is a seal failure. I expect there is an issue moving your needle from the symptoms you describe. The needle is gripped by a part which should be locked onto the shaft, it is possible this was not fitted correctly or has come loose.
Or the motor may not be able to move the needle due to power or connectivity faults. It is possible it is your connection between the head and the mainboard. There is a PCB in the carriage behind the head with connectors for the head, the head locking screw is critical for keeping these in contact. There are also cables between the mainboard and head with connectors at each end.
If you have a ticket open then it will be quickly resolved by the team, please provide as much info as possible at their request.
