@BHudson. Thanks for your help in getting this oriented correctly. I have gone through the same process in MS 3D Builder so I know what to do if I come up against this issue again. For your (and CEL’s) information, this model was created with Geomagic Design in inches and exported as an STL.

@BHudson thanks for the offer of help. Wherever I click, the result looks the same. Here’s the STL file. The trailing edge is a single plane, so wouldn’t all that face’s triangles be on that same plane?

Thanks Thiago . I have loaded it into Netfabb. It doesn’t report any errors, but I applied the default repair anyway. The STL exported from Netfabb behaves just the same in AM.

I find it doesn’t always work. The trailing edge of this fin is a single flat surface, but the Lay Flat action stands it on tiptoe.

That’s how I tried to do it, but the second material did not feed.

I have tried this with Robox ABS, Chroma Green and Designer Grey. Whether I try green first or grey, the second colour ABS does not feed through when I resume the print. If I cancel the print job then start a fresh print without purging, the material feeds fine and the new print is OK. Am I missing a step when I change the materials over?

After repair by CEL, I don’t get the connection problem anymore.

CEL Robox help desk advised me to remove all historic drivers. I did this by opening a command prompt and running Device Manager to show hidden devices:

set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1
devmgmt.msc

Then from the View menu you can check “Show hidden devices”. I removed the greyed out devices under “Ports” and “Universal Serial Bus…[Read more]

Does anyone else have problems getting Automaker to recognize their Robox? I have had this issue for a week now (call raised, but no response as yet). I have tried the reset switch fix, and also tried following the above sequence regarding power/USB cables.
