After waiting for 9 months+, the box has arrived - having followed its progress up the country on the DHL website all day. I thought I’d video the unboxing knowing how eager I was to see one before I got it, for the benefit of all those still waiting. http://youtu.be/7i9k5x7hd-k

Does anyone know if there’s a way to change the font/colours of this community? I find the current combinations eye-searingly uncomfortable.

26/09/2014 at 7:02 am #6704@wellmeadow Thanks for the unboxing vid. Packaging looks very nice.
In the second video it seems very loud while printing, is that the mic volume or is it loud-ish?26/09/2014 at 7:15 am #6707@Adrenaline - it is certainly louder than I was expecting. I left it running overnight and had to shut all the doors so that it didn’t disturb the children upstairs. I think I’m going to have to find somewhere else to put it.

can I put your video in the Roboxing getting started wizard ?
That’s already another part of the puzzle in the getting started wizard.java (EE), JavaFX, HTML, GIS) programmer, database wizard, framework inventor, looking for a job ! http://roboxing.com/wizards26/09/2014 at 7:41 am #6711@pelgrim Yes you may use the video, but please check to see if my address is legible on the outer box and if it is I would appreciate it if you could perhaps help obscurity it for me.
It is worth noting that included in the instructions is a helpful section on how to unpack. However it is in a bag, inside the accessories box, inside the outbox. By the time you reach it most of the unpacking has been done!
Trying to spread the word about 3D printing to small and medium sized businesses in the West Midlands.26/09/2014 at 7:59 am #6714it is indeed a strange format.
if you could send me the original video I can edit it for youjava (EE), JavaFX, HTML, GIS) programmer, database wizard, framework inventor, looking for a job ! http://roboxing.com/wizards26/09/2014 at 7:59 am #6715@Wellmeadow with regards to noise, I put mine on a layer of neoprene foam. In fact, it was an oversized gamers’ mouse mat folded in half, but if you took a double thickness of old soft-style mouse mats, it’d be the same. I then put a metal baking sheet on top just so the holes in the base didn’t get obscured.
This made a huge difference to the transmitted vibrations through the table I had Robox on. The noise in the room is still perceptually similar, but it’s nowhere near as audible in the rest of the house.
(Actually, since then I ordered from eBay a 2″ thick block of hard foam intended as a yoga mat. It does have diminishing returns, though: the mouse mat makes 90% of the difference)

Doesn’t have to be printed if you would ask me, anything will do.java (EE), JavaFX, HTML, GIS) programmer, database wizard, framework inventor, looking for a job ! http://roboxing.com/wizards -
