Do you have any plans to make a “high temp” / “all metal” print head which can print up to 350°C? The application would be to print ultem material.

What about a print head made of hardened steel to print metal filaments like SteelFill from Colorfabb?

@fgroeli The idea has been thrown around but I don’t know its current status. I know that it can’t use needle valves at this time so that may be part of the holdup. The current head temperature limit is set by the seals on the needle valves.

I operate two Betas and four Production Robox.

There is such a head designed, it has a theoretical temperature limit which is far beyond home safety… think molten precious metals 🙂 And it has needle valves.

Manufacturing cost needs to be realistic so we are taking baby steps toward it.

@pete please tell us more about this high temp head, and is it something we can expect in the coming year?

@pete Yes please keep us posted on this high-temp print head development, and if you need any users as testers. I imagine a different print bed is required as well.
