Straight out of the box today. 4 hours later still no joy. Can anyone fill me in on why reel loads but still shows empty ( and ABS / PLA icon is wrong ) I guess this is why I cant do ANYTHING ? no calibrate, no nothing

Perhaps the filament doesnt like running up hill ? ( OZ )
Cheers

18/03/2015 at 8:15 am #16702From what you explained here it seems that exit sensor from extruder is not working. Best is to log an issue here:
https://robox.freshdesk.com/support/home
Someone with Robox at hand will be able to point you where on status screen you can see status of extruder exit switch and confirm that it showing wrong value…
18/03/2015 at 10:29 am #16710Thanks @click. I await feedback from support. Found that nozzles do heat up when ejecting filament - so suggests heater system ok. Maybe a dodgy reel / eeprom data ? Am afraid I am within a hair of shipping this thing back. Thanks for your comments , I appreciate the help. Cheers. Warren
18/03/2015 at 10:35 am #16711If it was a bad EEPROM then you would be able to print without any issues. Only thing that printer would say is that there’s no reel. You’ll need to select type of material fed in manually.
If it works that way - it would be good to have another reel handy to try with it, too.
Ah, that’s another thing you might experienced: I am not sure that you can calibrate Robox without original reel in anymore (if we were able to do it every). Definitively something you need to talk to support about…

23/03/2015 at 11:49 am #16888@phaseng I expect this is as click said in his first post. If you open the advanced tray (3 dots in the middle of the screen) then go to the Diagnostics tab. Look for Loaded, it should say true when filament has been fed to the head.
When loading filament make sure you push the filament in, keep pushing it when the motor starts to run then you can let go when the filament starts being pulled through your fingers. At this point Loaded should be True.
If it never becomes true and you can see the filament inside the bowden tube you will need to talk to the support team.
