AnonymousYes, just tried 1.00.15 and no dripping. Indeed, the fix is mentioned explicitly in the release notes! Prints are looking pretty clean so far, but will try a big print later today* to do a proper test. Not tried the default profiles yet, still using my hand adjusted ones.
*just set it going - five hour print. Be interesting to see if I have cured the ‘sticking to the bed’ problem for big prints…

AnonymousOK, for those that are interested, my big print detached with just half an hour remaining! Grrr. Not to worry, it wasn’t perfect, but it would have been a nice toy to show people. For those who know the model, it’s designed be printed without support and one set of wheels actually turned (I broke the other set trying to free them!). Not sure why it detached right at the end, think there’s still some shrinkage going on even with the heated bed, as you can see it very slowly detaching over a period of several hours.
During print:
Final after pausing print. It’s actually a better print than it looks here, but as we know, the Robox is still struggling with fine features. It is possible to make out the number plate lettering at the back and underneath, but the roof struts are a bit chewed up. Brings back memories of pyramids, eh?
13/10/2014 at 7:47 am #7797Shame about the fine parts but nice print again! I think PLA is something thats going to take alot of experimenting to get the best profile and I’m sure when someone gets it right it’ll find its way to the roboxing page.
It is nice to see more elaborate prints now…I though everyone had some facination with pyramids :p.
13/10/2014 at 4:37 pm #7839What print setting is that? It might have better success with the small parts if the layer thickness is smaller so that it builds up the angles in smaller increments.

Anonymous@darthviper107 - that’s the standard fine profile. I think I should have kept the bed at higher temperature, but it was the first 5 hour print I’d tried. Thing is, do I really want to experiment with another big print, just have it fail?! Might have to leave that to others…
14/10/2014 at 2:04 pm #7895A slight cheat you can try is to lower the print head height a little so your first layer is closer to the bed. This “smushes” the first layer more into the bed and so it tends to adhere better. Some people like it, others don’t because you end up with more of a brim to trim and because the first layer the lines of plastic laid are smushed together too.
14/10/2014 at 6:31 pm #7903Just a slight digression - how do you change any of those two values in the title of the thread? Or is known bug/issue that you cannot change it on the Mac? They ara always greyed out for me - and I was supposed to be able to change them on-the-fly, right?
11/11/2014 at 7:43 am #9259I have the same problem as Clicky. I am not sure if was like that before, but now that I wanted to change those settings they were all greyed out. Any suggestions?
11/11/2014 at 7:57 am #9260Hi,
I was helped how to find them in some other thread. Unfortunately I can’t find it at the moment and as I don’t have Robox connected I can’t take screen shots to demonstrate where they are. And I am going to refrain of just going back to my memory as it is going to end up a long and convoluted process for you! When I find some time I’ll search for reference in other thread… unless someone does it before me!

AnonymousYou need to create a new material profile, save that and make your changes. Beware if you restart your machine / AM, you need to load your previously saved material from the first screen (under Reel) - bit confusing that bit and has caught a few out.
13/11/2014 at 9:59 am #9414I still wasn’t able to create a new material. The button under ‘Reel’ does nothing. After loading a model and creating a custom printing profile I can give information for a new material, but ‘Save’ button does nothing.
On another thread I found that if you have a reel loaded in the Robox, you can’t access the other profiles and select a different material. When I get back to my printer I will try that.

Anonymous@mape - it’s on the final screen, not the initial screen. Bad UI design I know, keeps causing confusion on here. Don’t forget either after you created your new material profile, when you next load up AM, you have to reselect again (on the first screen) otherwise you have the impression it keeps disappearing. Not really thought through properly, I suspect they’ll change it at some point.
