I’m a Robox backer and nail-bitingly waiting for my baby to arrive. While the Robox might be my first choice for mid-sized models, I also need a printer for really tiny stuff. Recently came across the LittleRP, a DLP-projector based 3D printer with incredible print quality, which is currently funded on Kickstarter (unfortunately it was already sold out, when I found it). It was mentioned in another thread before, but I think the quality is so impressive, that it deserves its own topic. I was also considering the Formlabs form1, but I think LittleRP gives you even more bang for much less bucks (and the projector can also be used to watch movies
)Anyone knows where to get cheaper resins? And: are there special resins, like ones which are flexible when cured!?

If you are keen I recommend that, as the campaign has not yet closed, you keep a close eye on the site in case someone cancels - which happened a couple of days ago. And, indeed, is how I moved from a ‘late’ backer to an ‘early bird’.
Another interesting campaign, which is closed, is the M-One. This provides quite a lot of information including on materials.: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/makextec/m-one-an-opensource-professional-desktop-dlp-3d-pr

31/08/2014 at 2:00 pm #5504we did talk about the littleRP in this topic: http://www.cel-robox.com/forums/topic/ice1-sls-printer-just-because-i-like-it/ (why the heck is the link button not working anymore)
Still got the same remark: you have to buy your own beamer on top of this expensive resin bath.
I’m still waiting for the peachy printer to come on market: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/117421627/the-peachy-printer-the-first-100-3d-printer-and-sc?ref=discovery
java (EE), JavaFX, HTML, GIS) programmer, database wizard, framework inventor, looking for a job ! http://roboxing.com/wizards31/08/2014 at 3:39 pm #5506@mikeg: Thanks for the suggestion! Worked indeed. First there was a single, open $498 pledge missing the 3d printed parts, today I was even to switch to a $499 pledge including those parts. Whoohoo! Hope it works as good and is as well documented as the creator promises…
@pelgrim: Are you german speaking? Well, so am I. Because „Beamer“ is dinglish, just like „Handy“
But seriously: the 1080p projector they suggest is not that expensive, and as I wrote above, you can use it even for watching movies. Acer P1500 German Streetprice. And if that’s too expensive for you, you can even go for a cheaper projector with lower resolution, like the Acer X1240.
I kept an eye on the Peachy printer for a while as well, but the quality of the prints is just nowhere near what professional or semiprofessional SLA printer like the Formlabs or the LittleRP deliver.
31/08/2014 at 4:10 pm #5509@dr-wo: you’re getting close: dutch speaker from little Belgium.
An extra 500 someting (or less quality 300 something) € on top of 500 $, to me that’s a lot (too much).
Unlike you I have no real plan, I’m used to adapt to the equipment I have.

But no, some things should never have a big version.
Let’s discuss printers and projectors here.
