of course it’s too expensive, but that’s not the point.

If this would ever become available at robox range price, I’ll take it.

Amongst a few, there is one detail that is incorrect, they mention the Ice is 20x cheaper than market available similar products, I have been quoted for €35000 for an SLS from Stratasys, so a little off there.

Secondly, they present the project of the bat as the ICE9 with build volume 30x30x45, but that is not the Ice1 from the kickstarter campaign, with a retail price of £9000, I am curious about the price of the Ice9 version, that looks twice as big.

Soooo, the video and project talks mostly about an Ice9 with 40W co2 laser with large build volume, but, the kickstarter project perks is about Ice1 printer, using a Solid state 5W laser and build volume down to 20x20x25

Very misleading if you dont pay attention.

After checking the comments section, they talk about pre-ordering the Ice9 on their website, full price is £19,900 +VAT (20-21%)+shipment (a couple thousands££)

Doesnt seem far off Stratasys SLS printers anymore, and just for fun, if their price is 20x cheaper than market machines, that’ll put them at about £400,000 without VAT, mmmmnaaaaah, dont think so.

And honestly speaking, the controller is an Arduino, really ?!

Seems that the one reason for the cheaper price is the expiration of most of Stratasys Patents on 3D printing, like SLS, and much like when Makerbot did it 5yrs ago, on the same ground.

All too rich for my blood.

But I am venturing into DLP via https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/362246155/littlerp-affordable-flexible-open-3d-resin-printer

littlerp is a clever design, I didn’t notice the first time I saw it that the beamer is on the bottom of the printer.

It’s still expensive, certainly if you take in account that you have to buy your beamer yourself.

Still waiting to see how peachy printer will do.
