Is there any projected release date for the people that didn’t get the beta package to be able to download the Automaker software?
10/01/2014 at 4:41 pm #1382I’m keen to know this to, I’m happy to act as a tester for the software even though I need to wait for the machine.
20/01/2014 at 12:34 am #1494Any information on this yet? Also I was going to install Slic3r and it wanted to know the Firmware Type. My options were RepRap(Marlin/Sprinter/Reperier), Teacup, Makerware(Makerbot), Sailfish(Makerbot), Mach3/EMC and No Extrusion. Which G-code type does the Automaker software support?
21/01/2014 at 10:42 am #1517They’re using their own modified version of Slic3r, I think I read somewhere that they plan on releasing their stuff after the beta phase.
21/01/2014 at 1:55 pm #1520Choose reprap for now.
Our version of Slic3r can control the additional parts of Robox, nozzle valves, dual nozzles etc
We will release the open source parts as soon as we have finished them.

Is it safe to assume only Beta members will get the Automaker software early? If not when will we be able to download that? I know we wont be able to print anything but it would still be nice to poke around with and make suggestions from a interface only standpoint.
21/01/2014 at 4:25 pm #1541We have discussed this, still no certain answer. We will eventually have “Stable release” and “Beta release” areas
We are still making dramatic changes or finding Ian size holes in things… it seems that if you keep programmers awake too long they fall over and make a mess.Still getting closer everyday.

27/05/2014 at 7:44 pm #2862Hello!
Possible to obtain the software to test its capabilities?Evgenius30/05/2014 at 1:23 pm #2917we have a controlled release right now. We might open it up once we have solved some of the issues discovered. Without a Robox attached there is very limited functionality.

I’m running Ubuntu 14.04 x64 version, downloaded the matching linux x64 AutoMaker and ran the install, which went smooth.
No Robox attached (I’m in the pre-order queue)
The first startup of the application resulted in this error message.
“Solutions area in the Robox Support Portal” is not clear to me, but I’m sure it will be after your response.

It might be a case of using stock drivers rather than the specific nVidia / AMD / whatever drivers for your graphics card. In lieu of detailed checks from CEL, I’d start by hunting down some other apps that use 3D in JavaFX 8 and see how they do.
Hope that helps…
