Should the profiles auto-update in Automaker as previously has happened? I don’t see any HD glass in the list currently

It would surely be worth Cel and S3D putting the joint effort in to getting official compatibility, the support and raft creation, level of detailed control available and versatility of S3D can’t be beaten.
AM is great when you are a new or basic level user but as soon as your skills advance beyond it gets frustrating, you basically aren’t able t…[Read more]

Ah, interesting. We’re currently running testing on the Fluor Yellow Stained HD Glass on another printer, will be very interested to see what settings you have on the SmartReels as it is proving to be very particular about the temperature you run.

Ian Blinkhorn replied to the topic Warping of edges in the forum Technical Support 2 months, 3 weeks ago
Looks like a calibration problem or else an issue with the bed heating to me as I’ve never had that level of warping with any of the Smartreel ABS, original, NGen, Tech ABS all print with just the occasional lift at the corners, usually fixed by beefing up the rigidity of the model, including upping the infill past 50%.
I printed off fidget…[Read more]

Note that the official Raspberry Pi 7″ screen isn’t connected by HDMI, it connects to the on board DSI socket

Any update on when you’ll be done with fulfilling the kickstarter stuff and on to the backorders?

And yet it is listed as a known issue on the support portal.
We have never had any issues with any other USB device on this PC (including our original Robox) and have tried mutiple USB cables.
we have not had any further issues since connecting via a USB hub, including pre and post the firmware upgrade.

Update :
Having spent a bit more money on decent software, Simplify 3D, and printed some hop up additions (including left and right spool holders to allow us to use our stock of Robox filaments on CP) we are now gettting decent results from the printer, although we’re limiting it to PLA use for now as the process for getting ABS to stick to the…[Read more]

<span style=”-webkit-tap-highlight-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);”>Looks like a complete bargain you guys are getting from Hobby King. If a reputable company in the U.K. was offering Robox at that price I’d probably clear out their stock 😀</span>
I’ve seen the extremely dodgy looking offers on Amazon a few times now, I’d only buy something like this…[Read more]

We’ve had various cables in the machine with varying levels of success, seems random tbh. This finally came to a head yesterday after upgrading to Automaker v3 the printer could not be recognised regardless of what we tried (sometimes it appeared in a Com port, sometimes not but never picked up by AM). So I checked the support portal and it talks…[Read more]

Ian Blinkhorn replied to the topic Supply chain problems for filament and/or parts? in the forum Chatter 3 months ago
You obviously have great designers and have pulled off some great ideas but it will certainly be very welcome to see a bit more stability on the core platform and related stock levels.
oh, and back on Filament, how about some more colours of TitanX

Ian Blinkhorn replied to the topic Supply chain problems for filament and/or parts? in the forum Chatter 3 months ago
Encouraging to know you have a plan for improvement, the timescales you mention are still disappointing especially with an EU supply chain, but if you can permanently fix the issue it will be worth the additional wait I guess.
I certainly haven’t got any complaints at the direction you’ve taken the range of filaments to date, there has been a…[Read more]

I think the software itself is capable of slicing for other reprap machines as well as their own.
As far as getting inspiration and the level of control desired by experienced makers then you really need look no further than Simplify 3D IMHO

Ian Blinkhorn replied to the topic TitanX from Formfutura - First shipment arriving, be-very-quick in the forum Materials 3 months, 2 weeks ago
Odd you mention a glossy finish as our first print of black definitely came out more matt and really nice look and feel, much less shiny than Ngen for example. As long as it is readily available Titan X just moved to the top of our go to filament list

Oh and the wiper, I always pull the one on our RBX-01 up a little bit as otherwise the nozzle is too high so doesn’t wipe. On the RoboxDual we haven’t had any such issues
-
Ian Blinkhorn replied to the topic Flashing red light in the forum Technical Support 3 months, 2 weeks ago
We’ve been having a similar problem with our new RoboxDual, the USB connection drops randomly causing the printer to stop, so we are now pulling the USB cable as soon as the print starts.
this is happening using the same PC(Win7) that we had previously used without issue with our RBX-01

<!-more->So having decided we needed more 3D printing capacity at work (our v1 Robox gets through a lot of work) and occasionally need a slightly larger build volume I opted to get one of these guys (as well as another Robox obviously). We’ve been fairly impressed with the build quality and the level of control over auto supports in the bundled…[Read more]
