My model of Tintin and Snowy from reddadsteve on Thingiverse. This is the model that I was determined get the right skin colour (or whatever you want to describe it as) to match the drawings in the comics. The filament manufacturer (MG Chemicals of Canada) call it light skin and I feel it is exactly right. The only features about reddadsteve’s character models is that he gives files for printing the eyes and eyebrows which are very tiny - as small as 3.5mm diameter. I did manage to print the eyes and eyebrows okay by printing several duplicates in a group and linking them by a brim. In the end I decided to fit printed eyes, but paint the eyebrows.
Tintin stands at 10 inches tall, which makes the model a significant size.

October 10, 2016 at 11:09 am #33363the surfaces are surprisingly smooth, did you make a post treatment?
October 10, 2016 at 11:27 am #33365@teleporteur No this is a straightforward print at normal setting and 25% fill. I have found that with rounded surfaces, the printer performs very well. This is why I want to use dissoluble support because any supported side results in a rough finish after the support has been removed as opposed to the major part of the model which is generally unblemished. The big advantage with this model is reddadsteve has created the model without any need for support.
